Camera Bag Insert

I have been admiring a Camera Purse since I got my camera almost a year ago, but I can't bring myself to pay over $200 dollars for one. I found a purse at Ross a couple months back that I just love and it is a nice big purse by Kenneth Cole and I thought that I could just make a camera insert to protect my camera and put it in my big purse/bag.

Supplies
1/2 inch thick foam
1/4 inch batting
3/4 yard of fabric
velcro
hot glue gun

I cut 3 rectangles 12 x 4.5 (one for the bottom & 2 sides)
Then, I cut 2 smaller rectangles 5.5 x 2.5 for the ends

I covered them with my choice of fabric using a hot glue gun.

I put it all together and adhered it with my handy hot glue gun.

For a divider (just in case I get a new lens :) I cut the 1/4 inch batting to the size I wanted ( 6.5 x 4.5) and covered it with my material.

I used my sewing machine to finish the edges.

I then sewed on the rough side of the velcro to both edges of the divider.

I attached the soft side of velcro into the camera case.
Here is the finished product! I love it. It may not be super quality but it works for right now.

Sihlouettes

This year for Christmas, I made my mom a Silhouette picture of my girls. I think it came out pretty cute. I liked it so much I want to make myself one.

All you do is take a side profile of your kiddo.
Print it & cut it out.
Trace it onto black card stock.
Cut out the image & glue it to whatever color background you want.
Voila!

Letter From Santa

I know, I have been absent fro a bit. My little one celebrated her 1st birthday and then became a sick girl with a very high fever for almost a week. I was a little nervous. Thankfully, it was just a virus and she is much better. Now I can TRY to accomplish my LONG to-do list this Christmas Season.
If you haven't gotten on the Pinterest band wagon, you should. It is awesome! Well, for crafty & DIY people it is an amazing. On Pinterest the other day I found on the post office website that you can send a letter to The North Pole and they will send back the letter inside your envelope back to you with North Pole postmark. How neat is that? So, to take it a step further I found a website that has free letters from Santa that you can print up. They have 4 or 5 different letters to choose from, different backgrounds and you can personalize it with your childs name, age & gender. So, I printed one up for my 3 year old. I put that in a smaller envelope and addressed it to her with a stamp on it. I put that in a bigger envelope and addressed it to The North Pole. Easy as Pie. She is going to LOVE it! I can't wait to get it back and have her open it.

Here are the link to the websites I used

Friday's Favorites

Before I became a mommy, I had a ton of beauty products. I had a different shampoo for each day, a million bath & body lotions, a ton of make-up and don't get me started on my wardrobe! Since then I have down-graded my stash a bit, just because I don't really have the time to worry about what scent I will wear everyday and the luxury of a hot bubble bath each night (those were the days!) But, I wouldn't be me if I didn't have some sort of bath & beauty bag. So, on to my favorite beauty must-have's!

Dry Shampoo by Suave

This is a must have for a busy mom! When you don't have time to wash your hair everyday, you spray this dry shampoo on areas of your hair that get oily. It absorbs oil and has a nice fresh scent, too! I had a coupon for this particular brand and haven't tried anything else because I really like this one so far!

Illuminating Mascara by Loreal

I LOVE this mascara. It gives your eyelashes a shimmer. It isn't a mascara you wear everyday. I wear it on dates with my hubby and to church. I have the bronze mascara and it comes in black too.

C.O. Bigelow Lipgloss from Bath & Body Works

I love this because it has a hint of color and it is infused with mint, so it makes you feel fresh and lovely.

Oh & one of my favorite bubble baths is

Sleep-Lavender Vanilla from Bath & Body. Its a soft smell that gets you relaxed and ready for bed.

* I was not paid to talk about any of these items. I just loves these products!

Monday's Munchie

Cookies & Cream Mini Cheescakes

My husband loves anything cookies and cream. I was looking for something to make for dessert and I came across THIS recipe on The Girl Who Ate Everything blog and made it and it was SO easy and my hubby loved them! They reminded us a lot of our favorite cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I definitely recommend making these but only if you don't mind going back for seconds!

Here is my spin on the recipe......
(I cut the original recipe in half and then in half again because I have a small family and didn't want the temptation of having all that cheesecake in my fridge :)

1 package of Neufchatle cream cheese (1/3 less fat than regular cream cheese)
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup melted white chocolate chips
4-5 crushed Oreos
6 whole Oreos

Mix the cream cheese and sugar with a hand mixer.
Add the vanilla and egg & mix
Next, add 1/4 cup of sour cream
Melt your white chocolate chips in a separate dish
Add 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture into the chocolate and stir
Now, add the chocolate into the rest of the cheese mixture.
Mix in your crushed Oreos.
Place an Oreo in the bottom of a lined muffin tin and pour the mixture over the Oreo cookie.
(I fill to the very top of the muffin tin).

Bake at 275 for 22-25 minutes.
Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes and once cool remove from pan and refrigerate for 2 hours. Top with whip cream!

Makes 6-7 mini cheesecakes

Friday's Favorites Fall Pt. 2

It has been a bit chilly here in Tucson and I am loving it! I have been able to wear a couple of my favorite sweaters and my comfortable ugg boots. We are getting ready to take our family pictures and I am trying to put together our wardrobe for it. I think we are going to wear jewel tones (plum, deep pink, navy). Here are a couple of my favorites that I have come across for the whole family.

1. For my girlies I am thinking either this sweater......

or this one. Both are from Old Navy.

For me, I was thinking this top from Old Navy

Or this sweater from American Eagle

For my cute hubby, I was thinking this puffy vest from Old Navy. I'm not sure if he will go for it, so just in case the other option is....

this button-up from American Eagle that would look mighty fine on him.

Happy Friday to you!
