Whimsical Wreath

I saw THIS wreath on a blog and fell in love with it and thought it would look fabulous in my kitchen to bring in some much needed color.  Here is what I came up with....

I didn't make a tutorial of the flowers.  But, the blog that I found this darling little wreath from, gives 3 different blogs she went to, to make her flowers.  I used some of her ideas and I made up some of my own. Really, all you have to do is look at the flower and it is pretty easy to figure out how to do it.  But, I always say....Make it your own!
My visiting teachers came over and saw this partially made and asked if I made the flowers and if it was hard and if it took alot of time.  So, my answer to that is.....
Yes! I made the flowers
No! They weren't hard at all!
Eh...it took some time but I think I made all of them within the time frame of 3 naps.

Kitchen Cabinet Decor

I must admit that I am not the biggest fan of my kitchen and I haven't been very motivated to do anything to change it, mainly because the thing I cannot stand the most are my countertops (that are an awful ceramic tile) and well, it probably won't be awhile until we can change them :(  So, I finally got on the ball and decided to spice up my kitchen with a little touch of color by decorating the top of my kitchen cabinets.  I had a bunch of coupons for Joann's and didn't spend more than $30 on some silk flowers, a shelf, some cute containers, etc.  I also rounded up some things around the house that were just hiding in a closet and painted a couple things and this is what I came up with......

One day the cabinets will get a facelift with paint & new hardware, but until then this brightens up my kitchen!
